IHFRA District Chair Application

About the Role

IHFRA’s District Chairs play a vital role in shaping the future of our association and representing the voice of independent sales professionals across the country. Four District Chairs — representing the Northeast, South, Midwest, and West Coast regions — serve as voting members of IHFRA’s Board of Directors.

District Chairs act as regional ambassadors, helping connect members, share insights from the field, and strengthen IHFRA’s ability to support, empower, and advocate for independent reps, manufacturers, and retailers throughout the home furnishings industry. 

This is a two year term, with new district chairs being sworn in during our 2026 Board meeting in February/March.

According to the IHFRA Constitution:

a. Four Board Members from four distinct geographical regions are to be selected by the membership at large every two years. Their title shall be District Chairs.

b. Their role is to represent their geographic region and IHFRA in its entirety. They should engage in conversations with members in their region, provide feedback to the Board about member needs, and share information on the health of their region as it pertains to sales.

Expectations of District Chairs

District Chairs are expected to:

• Actively participate in IHFRA and industry events, including the High Point and Las Vegas Markets, IHFRA webinars, and the annual Furniture Industry Awards Gala.
• Engage with members in their respective regions to identify needs, share opportunities, and build connections.
• Serve as a voice of the region, representing independent sales professionals and helping shape IHFRA initiatives and advocacy efforts.
• Collaborate with IHFRA leadership to grow membership, strengthen benefits, and advance the association’s mission.
