This is an Independent Contractor/Sales Representative role covering the IN/KY territory preferably in the territory. The individual in this role will actively prospect, develop, and manage relationships with retailers, designers, and other trade customers, promoting Braxton Culler’s product lines and customization options. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting accounts, presenting collections and new introductions, preparing proposals, and supporting customers in product selection, pricing, and order placement. Braxton Culler is a U.S.-based furniture manufacturer with over 415,000 square feet of production facilities in Sophia, North Carolina. The company is known for handcrafted, American-made furniture for the entire home, including custom upholstery, indoor wicker and rattan, bedroom, dining, occasional casegoods, and outdoor collections. With more than 600 fabrics(plus C.O.M.), 60+ finishes, and multiple configurations and comfort options, customers can create highly personalized pieces with custom lead times of approximately 4–5 weeks. Braxton Culler’s in-house finishing capabilities support extensive color customization while maintaining quality and efficiency. Its styles range from casual and transitional to modern and coastal, allowing pieces to blend seamlessly into a variety of interiors.
Role Description The role involves monitoring sales performance, following up on leads, resolving customer concerns, and collaborating with internal teams on inventory, logistics, and special orders. The Sales Representative/Independent Contractor is expected to maintain thorough product knowledge, represent the brand at markets or industry events, and provide regular territory reports and forecasts.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated sales, account management, and territory development skills, ideally within furniture, home furnishings, or a related industry.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities to work effectively with retailers, designers, and trade partners.
Solid organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in pricing, orders, and customer follow-up.
Comfort working as an independent contractor, including managing business expenses, travel within the territory, and time self-management.
Knowledge of furniture customization, finishes, fabrics, and product specifications is highly beneficial.
